Panel 1: Darrell looks down, away from Jillian as he says: “Well, I’m glad it worked out for you.”
Jillian smiles: “Thanks. It will work out for you too, I promise.”
Panel 2: Darrell stands up, taking his can of Dr. Pepper with him. “I uh, gotta go talk to Taylor.”
Jillian: “He might be asleep.”
Darrell: “Well, I’ll check.”
Jillian: “He was looking rather rough when I saw him earlier.”
Panel 3: Darrell walks to the stairs and pauses at the bottom.
Panel 4: He looks back over, his face backlit from the window behind him. “What happened to your family?”
Panel 5: Jillian doesn’t turn to face him, and we see the back of her head as she pauses before replying: “...I was taken from them. They never saw me again.”
Panel 6: Darrell glances away, his expression darkening. “...I’m not gonna call you out right now because you’re doing a favor for me, and I appreciate it.”
Panel 7: His expression darkens further into anger as he continues: “But damn Jillian, you do get how that’s fucked up, right?”
Panel 8: A close up of Jillian’s mug, her hands wrapped tightly around it. A small amount of steam rises from the pale brown tea inside. “...it was different.”
Panel 9: Darrell stands at the bottom of the stairs, hair shading his face and obscuring his features. He doesn’t say anything.
Panel 10: Finally, he walks up the stairs, saying as he leaves: “Doesn’t sound that different to me.”
