Queer Eye

Panel 1: Close up of a cellphone text message screen. A message is sent to James, whose image on the phone is a close up of his face with a big grin and sunglasses covering his eyes. The image is too close to make out other details other than the fact that he’s white. The text message reads: “Call me when you have time”
Panel 2: Jillian sits at the dining room table still, her mug in one hand as her other hand rests on her Kindle. Next to her on the table her phone begins buzzing insistently.
Panel 3: Jillian picks up the phone with a smile: “James! Good morning.” James, on the other end: “Hey there Mam!”
Panel 4: Somewhere else, we see the backs of two people standing on a rooftop overlooking a cityscape at dusk. Both of them are dressed in plain black pants and hoodies. The one on the left has a small frame and is holding a phone to his ear--presumably James. His hood is down, and he’s wearing a black beanie over his head as well as black gloves. The other is a taller feminine figure with her hood up and her hands in her pockets. On the other end of the phone Jillian says: “Actually it would be ‘good evening’ to you, wouldn’t it?”
James: “Yes, the sun’s about to set in merry old England.”
The woman asks: “Is that Jillian? Tell her hi for me.”
James, to Jillian: “Anuli says hi.”
Jillian: “Oh, say hi to her as well.”
James relays to Anuli: “Hi to you as well.”
Panel 5: Jillian’s smile becomes bittersweet. “Listen, I won’t keep you long. I know you’re helping Gael. I just wanted to ask if you’d be willing to come this way when you’re done.”
James: “Why, is there a problem?”
Panel 6: Jillian: “No, I just thought you two might be able to help out one of your new brothers.”
James: “One of...?” He gasps in realization. “No way! Seriously?!”
Panel 7: James: “You know, I’m starting to think you just can’t see people who aren’t queer.”
Jillian’s smile returns: “That wouldn’t be a bad thing.”
