Panel 1: Leah brings Darrell over to a table and gestures with one hand, presenting him to the unseen people sitting there. “Here’s the kid.”

Panel 2: Two men sit next to each other at the table. One is the singer we’ve seen previously, he’s wearing a black t-shirt with red artwork on the front depicting a scene from the end of the Montero music video by Lil Nas X, in which Lil Nas X places devil horns on his head. The other man is pale and skinny with black eyes and waist-length straight black hair. He wears a black sweater that’s tattered on the edges and has black plugs in his ears as well as two piercings in the upper cartilage. He’s also wearing a silver chain choker around his neck, and a large silver ring on his left index finger. He gives Darrell a side glance but doesn’t otherwise react as the singer turns to face the other two with a big smile, greeting them: “Hey there! I’m Ty, this is Jeremy.”

Panel 3: Leah walks over to pull out a chair on the opposite side of the table as Darrell continues standing and talking with Ty. Their table is up against the railing that overlooks the stage, where a couple of people are starting to set up for a show. Ty: “You’ve met Leah.”

Darrell: “I’m Darrell. I saw your last show, you guys are really great.”

Ty: “Aw, thanks! Have a seat if you want.”

Panel 4: Ty gestures towards the stage where the band is setting up. “You seen these guys play before?”

Panel 5: Darrell sits across from him, setting his glass on the table. “No, I’m actually new to town. Moved here a few weeks ago with… some friends.”

Ty: “Well you’re in for a treat. They’re some of the best you’ll hear here.”

Panel 6: Darrell: “I’m surprised you’re not trying to tell me you guys are the best here.”

Ty: “Oh we’ve all got our strengths. Ours is we can play all night ‘cause we’re not in our forties.”
